Although details are sketchy, our sources say that several others escaped with injuries.
Our source explained that there is tension on the campus as hundreds of students were seen running for their lives, unwilling to wait for an explanation as to what had led to the shootings.
The source said that armed security personnel have already been dispatched to the university, but the identity of the attackers and their motives are still unknown.
As of the time of this report, neither the Plateau State Police Command, nor the Special Task Force nor the management of the university has issued a statement concerning the attack.

Saudis Threatened Deportation Of 400 Nigerian Female Pilgrims “Without Approved Chaperones”

Saudi officials were said to be seeking the deportation of 400 Nigerian female pilgrims who arrived in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia for the religious hajj because they traveled without approved male chaperones.

Local media reported that the women were detained from Friday until Monday at King Abdulaziz Airport in Jeddah and only supplied with food and water after strenuous efforts by the Nigerian Consul in Jeddah and a Minister of State for Foreign Affairs.

Spokesman Uba Mana said the women were allowed to proceed with their pilgrimage Monday following diplomatic intervention.

He said Saudi authorities held them for not traveling with a male relative due to a "communication gap."

He said an agreement between the countries exempts Nigerian women from requiring a male relative to escort them during the Hajj pilgrimage, which costs about $4,000 per person.

The pilgrims arrived in Jeddah in two separate Max Air flights from Jigawa and Sokoto states.

A source very close to the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) hinted last night that diplomatic efforts were still ongoing to stop the deportation.

"As I am talking to you now the matter is beyond the commission, it is now a diplomatic matter between the two countries. The issue now is how to stop the deportation of the pilgrims," the source said.

But the confusion and subsequent detention of women infuriated the Sultan of Sokoto, Muhammadu Sa’ad, who is the Amirul Hajj, who called the action of the Saudi authorities “an insult to Nigeria and to this country’s millions of Muslims.”

“They never raised this issue and never demanded that the female pilgrims must have a ‘muharram.’ They did not make this a requirement for issuing visas,” the Sultan said.

“They issued visas to all these pilgrims, only to embarrass, detain and threaten to deport them when they arrived in the holy land. How can they do this to us?... We have done a lot over the years to improve on our hajj operation and we do not deserve this humiliation.”

The Sultan said that he ordered the Nigerian pilgrims to resist any attempt to deport them. “Let the Saudis physically carry them into the planes and deport them,” he said. “They issued them with valid visas, only to shift the goal posts at the very last minute, when they had already arrived in Jeddah.”

More than 17,000 Nigeria pilgrims are already in the holy land.

Jealous girlfriend baths boyfriend in Acid *Horror*

Viewer discretion is advised.

This guy's girlfriend out of jealousy bathed his private area with acid. The girl in question suspected foul play and checked her boyfriend's phone. On checking, she discovered text messages indicating that he was cutting shows behind her back.

Instead of addressing the issue in a civilized manner, she decided to express her anger by almost killing the boyfriend in question. How? She purchased acid, and convinced him to engage in kinky sex with her resulting him been tied to the bed, because she wanted to interrogate him before pouring the acid. After bathing his private area with acid, his piercing screams brought neighbors running to the rescue. Unfortunately, the harm had been done.

So what good would she get out of this deed, and pls don't blame the Devil.

Is the Police really our friend?

The guy in this picture is Ugo Ozuah and said to be an amazing guy. Ugo went to Kings College, Lagos and University of Ibadan and University of Ado Ekiti all in Nigeria.

He got married last week saturday 15th Sept, 2012 and He was shot by the Nigerian Police,5 days later on the 20th Sept, 2012 in front of the UPS office on the Gbagada Express as he and his friend were flagging down a taxi cab. The police pickup pulled up and shot Ugo twice in his chest at close range as the bullet came out through his back. He was not resisting arrest, he was not arguing with the police, he was not asked to identify himself, he just stood with a friend and was shot for no reason. These policemen in uniform were reported to be drunk.

This issue has been reported to the police authority and they claim the men are not in the force. This is a very easy way to sweep the story under the carpet.

This story is one of too many and it's high time someone did something about it. Innocent young lives are claimed due to carelessness and irresponsiblity of some police men who obviously don't have a cue what their job functions entails.

My recommendation is that there should be a total reform of the police force. It is not a place for hoodlums and riffraffs, the recruitment criteria should be higher and stricter. We need respectable people in the Nigerian Police force.

The incredible story of Columbia's Godmother of cocaine

A 69-year-old woman known throughout the drug world as the "Godmother of Cocaine" was gunned down by an assassin on a motorcycle in Colombia Monday, according to international news reports.

Griselda Blanco, once listed alongside Pablo Escobar as one of the "most notorious drug lords of the 1980s" by the Drug Enforcement Administration, was fatally shot as she left a butcher's shop in western Medellin Monday afternoon, according to a report by Univision and El Colombiano. Colombia's El Espectador reported authorities are looking for Blanco's killers and are investigating possible motives for the killing.

Blanco served nearly 20 years in an American prison on drug trafficking charges and was at one point tied to as many as 40 murders in the U.S., according to a 1997 Senate testimony given by then-director of DEA international operations Michael Horn. Horn said that Blanco ordered a Florida mall shooting in 1979 that left two dead and four injured, and she apparently enjoyed her line of work.

"To foster her reputation as the 'Godmother' of cocaine, [Blanco] named her fourth son Michael Corleone, after the fictional mob character portrayed in the movie 'The Godfather,'" Horn said.

Court documents filed in 1988, three years after Blanco was caught, detail the shadowy, decade-long hunt for the queenpin that involved federal agents chasing false identities and checking Miami hospitals for gunshot wound victims that matched Blanco's description. But she wasn't able to elude them forever and after being captured in 1985 in Irvin, Calif. and serving nearly two decades behind bars in America, Blanco was released from prison and deported back to Colombia in 2004.

The DEA referred all inquiries into Blanco's death to Colombian authorities, telling ABC News, "she served her time here." The Colombian National Police did not immediately respond to requests for comment for this report.

Gadhafi's spy chief in Libyan hands

Need i say the evil that men do live with them?

Libyan dictator Moammar Gadhafi's notorious spy chief is in custody in Tripoli after extradition from Mauritania, Libya's premier said Wednesday, a step toward bringing the man linked to aircraft bombings and atrocities to justice.
A plane carrying Abdullah al-Senoussi landed in the afternoon at Metiga air base at the heart of Tripoli in the afternoon. From there he was flown by helicopter to the Hill Prison in the capital.

Abdullah al-Senoussi will be have a fair trial according to international standards for human rights, the rights from which Libyans were deprived," Prime Minister Abdurrahim el-Keib told reporters in Tripoli.
The former spy chief is accused of complicity in the 1988 bombing of a Pan Am airliner over Lockerbie, Scotland, as well as the Abu Salim prison massacre of more than 1,200 inmates by Gadhafi's regime in 1996 and another airplane bombing in 1989.

Forbes's Highest paid Celebrities

Oprah Winfrey-$165 million
The media mogul's earnings fell by a staggering $125 million from last year. However, even with the drop, she remains the highest earner on the list, just inching out director Michael Bay. It's been a challenging year for Winfrey, who signed off from her 25-year syndicated show and immediately turned her attention to struggling cable network OWN. The bulk of the earnings dive comes from lost income onThe Oprah Winfrey Show, but her diversified portfolio includes O: The Oprah Magazine, spin-off shows likeThe Dr. Oz Showand a radio deal with Sirius. She does not earn a salary at OWN, which has faced ratings disappointments and financial issues since it premiered in Jan. 2011. As chairman and CEO of the joint venture with Discovery Communications, she hopes a recent restructuring, new programming and a distribution deal with Comcast will turn the network around.

Michael Bay-$160 million
Bay nabs the title of top-earning director this year thanks toTransformers: Dark of the Moon. The 3-D film brought in $1.1 billion at the box office. Bay has a great deal on the films, taking a solid chunk of the profits. He also earns big from Transformer toys. Adding to Bay's coffers this year: a Transformers ride at Universal Studios in Hollywood. Bay has earned the right to finally do a small film.Pain & Gain has a budget well under $50 million.

Steven Spielberg-$130 million
Spielberg's DreamWorks moved into television in a big way this year with four new shows, includingTerra NovaandSmash. On top of that, the prolific producer stepped back into directing with two movies that hit theaters last Christmas,The Adventures of TintinandWar Horse. Both films were nominated for Oscars.

Top 10 Superfoods for Women

Ever wonder if your diet is missing something? Add our expert-approved, eat-right picks to stay lean, healthy, and strong.

The Cancer Fighter
Don't let brussels sprouts' signature scent turn you off. "The smell is a compound called allyl isothiocyanate that causes precancerous cells to self-destruct," Jonny Bowden, PhD, author of 'The 150 Healthiest Foods on Earth' says. "It's entirely possible that eating them every few weeks could help greatly reduce the incidence of colon cancer."
Bonus benefits: These mini-cabbages are packed with fiber and immune-boosting vitamins C and A.

The "Skinny" Steak
Red meat has a bad rap. The thing is, it really is good for you. Ideally, go for a cut that is both lean and grass-fed. A recent report from the Union of Concerned Scientists shows that meat from grass-fed cows usually has more conjugated linoleic acid (which has been shown in animal studies to combat cancer) and heart-healthy omega-3 fatty acids than the grain-fed variety. Plus, meat from grass-fed cows is lower in total fat and calories. As long as your serving is a lean cut, such as tenderloin, feel free to make this smart choice two or three times a week, says Bowden.
Bonus benefits: Beef is a great source of protein, iron (a mineral that one in five women are deficient in), and heart-healthy B vitamins.

The "It" Spice
Curry may very well be the spice of life: Curcumin, the antioxidant that gives the condiment its color, has been shown to halt tumor growth and destroy cancer cells in lab tests. "Our research revealed that this ingredient may help prevent a variety of diseases, including multiple myeloma, lymphoma, and breast, ovarian, and pancreatic cancers," says Bharat Aggarwal, PhD, a professor of cancer medicine at the University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center. At this point, it's still unclear exactly how much curry you should eat to help avoid disease, Aggarwal says. Experts simply recommend using the spice liberally to reap the rewards. For recipes, check out the book 5 Spices, 50 Dishes, by Ruta Kahate.
Bonus benefits: The antioxidants found in curry may also help break up plaques in the brain that cause Alzheimer's disease, say UCLA scientists.

The Next Nut
Pistachios are the new health nut. Why is that? New research from the University of Toronto shows that they may reduce the risk of diabetes by decreasing the effect of carbs on blood sugar levels. "Pistachios are high in protein, fiber, and healthy monounsaturated fat," explains study author Cyril Kendall, PhD, "all of which contribute to the slowing of carbohydrate absorption in the body."
Bonus benefits: Other recent research has shown that eating two to three ounces of pistachios a day can help significantly raise your level of good cholesterol (HDL). Pistachios are full of vitamin B6 and copper, too, which help increase energy.

The Java Junkie's Dream
Rejoice! Your morning cup of joe is healthy. Experts on an American Society for Nutrition panel recently concluded that drinking three to five eight-ounce cups a day lowers your risk of Type 2 diabetes, Parkinson's disease, Alzheimer's, and colon and liver cancers. "Among other things, the antioxidants in coffee protect your cells and DNA from damage," Bowden says. "Coffee seems to increase antioxidants in the blood, too."
Bonus benefits: Women who drink at least six cups a day are less likely to develop high blood pressure, revealed a 2005 study by Harvard scientists.

The Heart-Smart Whole Grain
One of the easiest ways to significantly lower your cholesterol is to eat whole-grain oatmeal daily, reports a British review of 10 studies. The fiber in oatmeal forms a gel that slows down your body's absorption of cholesterol.
Bonus benefits: "People who eat oatmeal for breakfast tend to stay full all morning and consume less at lunch, due in part to the protein and fiber," says Dave Grotto, RD, a nutritionist in Chicago and a spokesperson for the American Dietetic Association.

The Fit Fish
"Shrimp is about 90 calories per three-ounce serving, it has virtually no fat, and it's packed with protein, making it the ultimate diet food," says Ellie Krieger, RD, host of the Food Network's Healthy Appetite with Ellie Krieger. It may even help prevent heart disease, thanks to astaxanthin, the antioxidant that gives the shellfish its red tint. "People shy away from shrimp because it's high in cholesterol, but cholesterol in food is much less likely to raise your blood cholesterol than, say, trans fat," says Kathy McManus, RD, a FITNESS advisory board member and director of the department of nutrition at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston. Moreover, eating about a cup of shrimp daily can raise your good cholesterol level, found a Rockefeller University study.
Bonus benefits: Shrimp is also rich in cancer-fighting selenium and bone-building vitamin D.

The Sweet Surprise
Enjoying a small amount of flavonoid-filled dark chocolate may prevent clogged arteries and reduce your risk of developing heart disease. Also, eating up to 3.6 ounces daily can be as effective as beta-blockers and ACE inhibitors at lowering blood pressure, notes a recent Archives of Internal Medicine study.
Bonus benefits: Studies have shown that eating chocolate releases serotonin, the feel-better brain chemical.

The Red Wonder
Take two tart cherries and call me in the morning. While your doc may not say that yet, she might soon: A new animal study from University of Michigan shows that consuming a powdered version of tart cherries can lower cholesterol and blood sugar levels, as well as decrease the body's ability to store fat in the liver. It's not yet known if cherry-rich diets will have a similar effect on people, but University of Michigan researchers are hopeful.
Bonus benefits: People who exercised and drank two 12-ounce glasses of tart cherry juice daily for eight days reported less muscle pain than those who sipped a placebo, finds a 2006 study.

The Trendy Tomato
Red tomatoes are full of lycopene, a substance that helps lower your risk of cancer, heart disease, and macular degeneration. But orange tomatoes offer two and a half times more. Apparently, they contain a form that the body can more easily absorb.
Bonus benefits: One cup of orange tomatoes provides 338 percent of the RDA for vitamin A.
